On The Technologies We Use...
Portal Australia identifies those software technologies
that will see good service. New component architectures may
require new design approaches and principles.
We design these new design approaches and principles.
We use Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) technologies. In particular,
Enterprise JavaBeans.
On the client side, we do Java 2 Swing as well as XML processing, and Java Server Pages (JSP). We
expect that the WebStart deployment technology will improve the
acceptance of Swing, which has previously been held back by browser
involvement in Java 2 implementation and performance concerns. Swing's
performance improvements at Java 2 1.3 see Swing ready for general
application.
We have experience across the range of Java technologies, and actively
research, and evaluate current and future technologies.
EJB, CORBA, and XML aren't just buzz words to us, they are significant developments, that
offer astounding advanatges when used effectively.
We've provided a short paper, (as an example of our
technical reasoning) to describe Portal's
perspective on server technologies, as they apply to to one aspect of
designing robust, e-business software: messaging.
